A scene reconstructed from rock and sculpture by Picasso stand in high definition against a vaguely defined background where ghostly figures still lurk. The preciousness of these high art works is profaned by graffiti that evinces painterly drips and runs across the rock face. Other figures exist in the half-life of rock and sculpture, somewhere between form and disorder. Suggestive of anatomy, evidence of handiwork, the detritus strewn in the foreground never found itself elevated to a work of art. The still life offered here is rendered on the borders between high and low, abstraction and representation, original and replication.
