The artist stands aloof in a crowd of colorful characters standing brightly against the brown washed background. An homage to the Northern Renaissance where crowded scenes blended landscaped parks with urban cityscapes, these figures occupy what might be a New York City park in the wintertime. The strangely colored figures are reminiscent of Alex Katz. Normally reserved for the margins of a painting, a cat has wandered into the center here, seemingly nonplussed by the activity orbiting around it.
